Cowboy Christmas #2

Hello my friends and welcome back to another edition of Cowboy Christmas. Here I share Christmas music from your favorite cowboys as well as some bible verses related to Christmas.

Starting today's music selection is The Sons of the Pioneers with a lovely rendition of Christmas on Plains. Next comes Roy Rogers and The Jimmy Wakely Trio with Silent Night. This may be one of the finest versions of this classic Christmas carol. Next is Wesley Tuttle with his 1945 rendition of Christmas Carols By The Old Coral. Though Wesley Tuttle may not be a familiar name to many of you, my fellow film buffs will have hears his voice before. This is because he provided the yodeling for The Silly Song in Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937). He would also be an actor in some western films with his wife, actress Marilyn Myers. Cowboy actor/singer Tex Ritter would also later record this song, which is appropriate consider at one time Wesley would be Tex's guitar player. Gene Autry helped popularize some of the most famous Christmas songs of all time, one of these was Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer which he recorded in 1949 with The Pinafores. His version is still one of the finest renditions of this classic song. Next is Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys with their incredible 1945 recording of Empty Chair At The Christmas Table. This is followed by Johnny Cash's wonderful version of Merry Christmas Mary. Ending this musical selection is Emmylou Harris with the title song from her 1979 Christmas album Light of The Stable.

But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. Galatians 4:4-5

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 1 John 5:11
