Hollywood Topics on Harry Langdon

Though it was only for a short while, it is hard to overstate how popular Harry Langdon was at the top of his career. He was being compared to Charlie Chaplin, which was the largest compliment a filmmaker could receive at the time. Looking at Harry's best films this popularity is no wonder, he truly was one of the all time great screen comedians. The following is a whole page from the magazine Hollywood Topics talking in great detail about Harry's feature film, Long Pants (1927). Unfortunately the comment about Langdon's popularity lasting for many years to come was not to be true as Harry's popularity would soon fade.

The following is also a page from Hollywood Topics, that gives a short Biography of Harry. Notice that unlike modern histories of Harry Langdon, there is no mention of Frank Capra.

Both of these pages are from 1927. Now enjoy one of my favorite Harry Langdon short films, Feet of Mud (1924).
