Cowboy Church #35

Hello my friends and welcome back for another service of Cowboy Church.

We start our musical selection with Lorretta Lynn with high energy version of Old Time Religion. This is followed by the Monroe Brothers' 1936 recording of This World is Not My Home. This song is slower paced than the previous Monroe Brothers recordings shared in this part of my blog, but it is no less beautiful. The song debuted a year before this recording. The Ramblers originally recorded it in February 1935, and this recording is from February 1936. This recording was released alongside The Monroe Brothers most popular gospel recording, What Would You Give in Exchange. Next is Roy Rogers, Dale Evans and The Sons of the Pioneers performing The Place Where I Worship on TV in 1962. This is followed by Red Foley with one of his biggest hits, his 1951 recording of Peace in the Valley, one of the first gospel recordings to sell one million copies. Hank Williams Jr. is often associated with party songs rather than anything actually sentimental. However he has a bit of his father in him and can occasionally do a tear your heart out and make you cry type of song. One of his best emotional songs is Little Boy's Prayer. Up next is Gene Autry's 1949 recording of The Bible on the Table and Flag on the Wall. Our musical selection ends with The Statler Brothers performing the gospel classic Are You Washed in the Blood.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. Romans 16:20With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. Isaiah 12:3May the Lord deal kindly with you, as you have dealt with the dead and with Me. Ruth 1:8

God is not a human, that he should lie, not a human being that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfil? Numbers 23:19
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7

Thank you for joining me for another service of Cowboy Church. Come back again next week for more. Happy trails to you until we meet again.
