Many of us cartoon fans mostly associate Tom and Jerry with the 1940's and 50's. However the cat and mouse duo remained just as popular in the 1960's still helping draw people to theatres at a time when theatrical cartoon shorts were fading away. These following pages from Boxoffice magazine give a real insight to this popularity. They say which cartoons were at this time were readily available for theatre boookings. These cartoons include both the new Tom and Jerry cartoons (the Gene Deitch ones) and cartoons from the previous two decades (the William Hanna Joseph Barbera ones). These pages also let us know that many theatres at this time had Tom and Jerry festivals.
