Movie Review: Shadow Force

Michael's Movie Grade: C

An enjoyable but immediately forgettable action flick.

There is nothing original or fresh about this storyline where two parents who worked from a secret organization must now protect their child. However, that doesn't mean that the film can't be fun at times.  Kerry Washington and Omar Sy work wonderfully as action stars and add some old-fashioned Hollywood charisma to this familiar action flick. The two also have great chemistry together and this adds some heart to the familiar family drama. The action scenes themselves are quite good. They may not be on the level of John Wick's action scenes about they do their job well. Though none of the characters are complex, the heroes are likable, and the villain is easy to hate and sometimes that is all you need.

However, what doesn't work here is the humor which consistently falls flat. The main problem with this movie though is that though it does somethings quite well, it never does them well enough to have it stand out from many similar films.

This may not be a great film but it does its job by providing an enjoyable trip to the movies.
