One interesting thing about reading old movie magazines is seeing who the writers thought would become big stars. One case of this is Sari Maritza, who only the most dedicated film buffs have heard of today. Before coming to Hollywood in 1932 she found a little fame in the UK in some small budget films that were pretty popular with British audiences. Her Hollywood career however would never take off. Her starring Hollywood films included Forgotten Commandments (1932), Evenings for Sale (1932), Her Secret (1933) and Crimson Romance (1934). She had a supporting role in International House (1933), an extremely zany comedy (featuring W.C. Feilds, Burns and Allen and many more) that has become a favorite of many lovers of classic movie comedy. Dissatisfied with her Hollywood career she would retire from movies in 1934.
